After earning her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Sacred Heart University, Corey built her career in school-based athletics, spending the majority of her professional life embedded in high school communities across Connecticut and New York. She is best known for her long tenure at Staples High School, where she worked closely with athletes, coaches, administrators, and local organizations.

Core Questions

Who are athletic trainers (ATs) and what do they do?
The National Athletic Trainers’ Association defines athletic trainers as highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals specifically trained in the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical conditions and emergent, acute and chronic injuries. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association, Health Resources Services Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services as an allied health care profession.
What does athletic training coverage include?
Athletic training coverage includes injury prevention, on-site evaluation, emergency response, and ongoing care during practices, games, and events. It also means having a trained medical professional present who understands sport-specific risks and can make informed decisions in real time.
Who provides the care on site?
On-site care is provided by NATABOC certified and licensed athletic trainers experienced in youth and organized sports. For tournaments and multiple field events, coverage can include multiple athletic trainers working as a coordinated team.
Do you cover single events or only ongoing programs?
Both. Coverage can be arranged for one-time events, tournaments, or multi-day competitions, as well as ongoing seasonal coverage for leagues and schools.
Can coverage be customized to our schedule?
Yes. Coverage is flexible and can be tailored to the hours, locations, and structure of your event or program. This includes partial days, multiple fields, or staggered schedules.
Do you travel to different locations?
Yes. Coverage is offered across CT state, and any travel beyond 20 miles from Fairfield County will be included as part of the quoted rate.
What are the minimum time and cancellation requirements?
Two-hour minimum for all events with the arrival time agreed upon by both parties. Time includes set up and break down for event and billing occurs on the quarter hours.

If coverage for an event has been confirmed and the event is cancelled, the following applies: (1) one-half of the agreed upon hours will be billed if cancelled outside 48 hours of event; (2) the hours paid in full if less than 48 hours of notice is given; (3) if same number of hours are rescheduled at time of cancellation and agreed upon, no cancellation fee is charged; (4) if hours are rescheduled but not agreed upon, cancellation fees are applied; (5) no cancel fee will be assessed if cancellation is due to weather.
Why is having an athletic trainer on site important?
Athletic trainers are trained to recognize injuries early, respond to emergencies, and manage care in ways that reduce risk and support long-term athlete health. Their presence helps programs operate responsibly and gives athletes the confidence to compete in a safer environment.
